Activity-My padlet post:

"In the university, I had a great professor, who was a mentor for me. His name is Elias Matsagouras, a very special person who inspired me in so many ways in teaching. Till now, I remember his ways of approaching teaching. I feel grateful to have him as a mentor.

As for me in the role of mentor, I am an eTwinning ambassador, so it is a kind of mentoring teachers. I really love this role and I enjoy working with teachers. I feel that we are collaborating and we are partners in the world of learning. I want to help them find their ways of creating and developing."

The role of the teacher is multi-tasking. This is why the mentor has to take into account all the different aspects of mentoring. The mentor leads the mentee to deal with the school board, parents, the stakeholders. The mentee has to be open to challenges and open minded. The mentor must inspire the teacher to develop his social skills.

"For me, formative assessment is required, so the mentee gets better and the mentor is aware of his technics.

I believe that summative evaluation is also needed because the mentee has got an overview of the whole mentoring process, as long as this evaluation is not an obstacle for the future developement of the student-teacher."
